The 2020 Give Hope Habitat Build is a collaboration between Give Hope and Greater Jackson Habitat for Humanity to build a home in the Northwest school district in Jackson County, MI.
Give Hope Habitat ensures that 100% of the sponsorship goes to funding the build taking place. The process of Give Hope makes a lasting impact on the community for years to come. Habitat buys local goods and services that help to form a growing economy. The houses provided are safe and provide a healthy environment for people to live in. The homeowners are also given many opportunities such as higher education and retirement from the impact of your gift. This is through the works of developing long term financial stability that is developed throughout the process of Hope Habitat.
Give Hope started during the devastating damage from Hurricane Katrina back in 2005. Since then over 800 students and chaperones from Jackson County have traveled from Florida to Texas and even some projects in Michigan. Many of our volunteers have dedicated years of their lives to helping others. These 800 volunteers included chaperones Pennie and Doug Atkins, who combined to participate in 29 trips. In December of 2019, Doug lost his life in a car accident. In order to honor his legacy, we are working to build a Habitat for Humanity home in Atkins’ honor in the Northwest School District. If you are looking to get involved check out the Sponsor Packet and Homeowner Brochure attached.
Businesses can be involved too. We would love to have you sponsor a project. Your sponsorship means that there will be a safe and affordable home for a family in Jackson. It also gives the privilege of being recognized by Habitat for Humanity for the generosity that is provided. Give Hope Habitat would love to partner with you! For more information take a look at the Sponsor Packet and the How to Sponsor Page.
